Congratulations on your decision to join the Fall incoming class here at Landmark College! The information below will serve as a helpful ongoing resource on the steps to take before your arrival, as well as information about campus life at Landmark College.
Student Orientation Overview
To support your strong connection to programming and community, the team has designed a robust orientation program for you! In the section below, “Pre-arrival Virtual Sessions,” you’ll see several optional programs that will be held online before your arrival on campus. You are encouraged to review the related content and attend a session to learn more about campus resources and programs and have any questions answered before your arrival. In early July, all students will also receive an invitation to complete several online, self-paced modules related to Health & Wellness that are important to complete before your arrival on campus.
Here is an overview of the on-campus orientation programming:
Pre-arrival Virtual Sessions
To support your arrival to campus and connection to the community, the Landmark College team will be offering a series of optional pre-arrival sessions virtually throughout the spring and summer for students and their families. Links to join these virtual events will be sent to the student’s Landmark College email and family emails on record. Where appropriate, sessions will be recorded and made available for those who are unable to attend. Please contact Student Affairs ([email protected]) if you have any questions or wish to request a copy of a recording. Our current pre-arrival sessions include the following:
- Health & Counseling: Preparing to Come to Landmark College (open to students and families) — Join Jeff Huyett, Director of Health Services, and Tori Tilson, Director of Counseling, as they provide an important overview of medical and mental health services available at Landmark College and important steps to take in advance of your arrival. The presenters will review the content available in this helpful resource available here.
- Housing, Dining, and Campus Safety (open to students and families) — Join members of Residential Life, Dining, and Campus Safety teams to gain an overview of your home. Ask questions, gather invaluable insights, and gain a deeper understanding of how our outstanding housing, dining, and campus safety services will enhance your college adventure. Residential Life will review the content available here.
- Orientation & Arrival to Campus (Open to Students and Families) — Join LC staff for an overview of the New Student/Family Orientation on-campus programs, review of arrival to campus logistics, and have a dedicated space to address your remaining questions before your travels to Vermont.
- Social Pragmatics (open to parents ONLY — student sessions will begin in August as part of the Early Orientation schedule) Join Mickey Cronin, Director of Social Pragmatic Programs and Support, and their rotating series of guest presenters, for an ongoing conversation about social pragmatics supports at LC, including the PEERS program, workshops, activities, and social coaching. For more information about Social Pragmatics programs at LC, please see the overview available here.
- Dates, times, and links to the virtual sessions will be communicated directly to Social Pragmatics students and families
- Transition at College (TaC) (open only to students and families enrolled in the TaC program) — Join Dr. Eric Gobel-Lynch, Director of Transition Programs, for a series of conversations about what to expect from your first semester at Landmark College, getting started with your transition journey, and getting to know your fellow TaC students and staff. For more information about the Transition at College program, please see the overview available here.
- Dates, times, and links to the virtual sessions will be communicated directly to TaC students and families
Additional sessions, including opportunities for social connection, will be shared in the weeks and months ahead—updates will be posted here, in the LC onboarding portal under the “Announcements” tab, and shared to your LC email.
