Department of Core Education

The Core Education Department offers courses that prepare students to be critical thinkers and writers who become lifelong learners. Through courses in writing and education, students can hone their writing craft, explore educational theory, and delve into educational research.

Faculty in writing and education work together to provide a coordinated curriculum for students in their first year that emphasizes skills and practices that support self-reflection, self-regulation, strategic learning, and writing process.

This integration sets the foundation for more advanced coursework.
